Champions

Pokémon Champions is a free-to-start battle game for Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, iOS, and Android, developed by The Pokémon Works and first announced on February 27, 2025 during Pokémon Presents. Season 1 Pokédex 187 Pokémon

187 Pokémon are available in Season 1, spanning all generations from Kanto to Paldea. Mega Evolution via the Omni Ring is the featured battle gimmick.

Battle Modes

Ranked Battles
Compete globally, earn Victory Points, and climb the seasonal leaderboard. Mega Evolution rules apply in the first season.
Casual Battles
Practice and have fun without affecting your rank. Perfect for learning new teams and strategies.
Private Battles
Challenge friends directly. Supports Single Battle and Double Battle formats.
Mega Evolution & Omni Ring
Trigger Mega Evolution in battle using the Omni Ring — a device worn by player characters, similar to the Mega Ring from the main series.
Victory Points (VP)
Earn VP from battles to recruit and train Pokémon. VP cannot be directly purchased — only earned through play.
Pokémon HOME Integration
Bring Pokémon from your existing collection via Pokémon HOME, or recruit new ones in-game. Build the ultimate competitive team.
Season & Regulations
Ranked Battles are organized into Seasons and Regulations. Each Regulation defines the eligible Pokémon pool, and Seasons determine ranking periods. At the end of each season, earn rewards based on your Battle Pass progress. Premium Battle Pass unlocks additional rewards including Mega Stones and outfits.

Training System

Training is simplified compared to mainline games. Individual Values and Levels no longer exist. Instead, distribute up to 66 Ability Points (max 32 per stat, 5 VP each), freely adjust Nature via Ability Adjustments (500 VP), switch between regular and Hidden Abilities (500 VP), and choose from all learnable moves (250 VP each). Move PP is fixed at 8, 12, 16, or 20.

Recruitment

Meet new Pokémon through Introductions that refresh every 22 hours for free. Each Introduction offers Featured banners with 10 different Pokémon. Choose between Trial Recruitment (free, 7-day loan, no training) or Official Recruitment (permanent, costs VP or tickets).
