Z-Variant Mega Evolutions
Z-variants are an entirely new twist on Mega Evolution introduced in the Mega Dimension DLC. Certain Pokémon that already have a standard Mega form can now use a special Z-type Mega Stone to access an alternative Mega Evolution with different typing or enhanced stats.
Base Game Megas
The base game features 68 Mega Evolutions available through the Lumiose City storyline. This includes all returning Mega Evolutions from X & Y alongside brand-new Megas for beloved Pokémon like Meganium, Greninja, Dragonite, and the three Kalos starters.
Mega Dimension (DLC)
The Mega Dimension expansion pass adds 25 additional Mega Evolutions accessible through the Hyperspace storyline. It features new megas for Gen 7–9 Pokémon like Zeraora, Baxcalibur, and Scovillain, plus exclusive Z-variant forms for Absol, Lucario, and Garchomp.
